We have some exciting news at HBWC! Beginning January 1st, we will be located in Suite 36 of the Alpine Village! We will be in the same building but different suite. What does this mean? We will still be providing our inventory of wigs, care products, and ostomy products just as we have in the past. We will now be including L'ANZA products that are safe to use not only on your own hair but also your wig! Our store will be partnering with our salon The Melanie Rae Salon in order to better serve the needs of our guests. This means, we are able to cut, color, and style your wig or natural hair to ensure you achieve the look you desire! We will have a private wig room as well as two salon booths where Bridget can ensure that your wig fits your style! We appreciate your patience with us as we spend December moving. We will still be open at our current location (Suite 30) till the end of December. January 1st, we will be in our new location (Suite 36). We hope to see everyone soon and we appreciate everyone's constant support! Sometimes when we wear our wigs, we feel stuck in a one style rut. Bridget took two of our longer styles and put them into pony tails. She has also taken our Determined wig and styled it into 4 different styles (as shown in the blog post before). Wigs do not have to be a one style and done look. If you are struggling to style your wig, Bridget is available to help! She can style your wig as a service or walk through how to do a hair style with you in the store! Do you have a special occasion approaching? Bridget and style your wig! Having the option to change your style is always a plus when wearing a wig! The base type is critical when choosing a wig if you want to be able to style your hair system differently daily or weekly. If you purchase a mono part cap, your wig has a part designed in the cap and cannot be changed. Most other tops have the ability to change parts. This is a video on how to prepare your wig for drying with a hair dryer if necessary. It is ideal to air dry your wig, however if a blow dryer is necessary, then use wig preparation products. Wearing a wig during the summer can be warm on the scalp. It helps to wear a wig with a lace base which allows more airflow to the scalp. If your scalp becomes itchy or has a rash, that may be due to the heat and dust that increases during the hot summer months. It is important to continue great care for your wig. Regular shampooing and conditioning helps to remove dirt, dust, and sweat from the base of the scalp at the roots. Here are a few tips to keep you feeling comfortable all summer long:

New pre-styled wigs have arrived at Hair Because We Care! At the end of the new year, we are all looking to transform ourselves. These looks take on a new meaning to transformation. Our models Erin and Rhonda had a blast shooting these looks while they braved the 16 degree weather. Finally autumn is here! We at HBWC are so excited about our new wigs, head coverings, and hates we have in stock! Back to school is a crazy time for everyone and now it is time to settle into new routines and start thinking about preparing our wigs for colder weather.  Today was the first full day I wore my extensions. I was nervous people would notice I had extensions in. I thought my peers would be able to see them in my hair. After a long day at work, I went to the bathroom and checked out how they held up. To my great surprise, they were still exactly where I had placed them in the morning and I couldn't even find where they were on my scalp by just looking in the mirror! I was so pleased. I had volume throughout my hair the entire day and the little extra length I wanted. When I styled my extensions this morning, I had followed Melanie's directions and after I curled each strand, I pinned the curls while they cooled off. The curl held all day and even better than my own hair did! I was hesitant to purchase these extensions, however I love them and could never go back!
